Participants Needed for UCLA Research Study on Self-Acupressure

Dr. Ryan Abbott is conducting a research study on perineal self-acupressure at UCLA. Eligible participants with symptoms of constipation will be able to receive fifty dollars in compensation as well as free education in perineal self-acupressure and standard treatment options.

Patients with Chronic Constipation?

Refer to a Randomized Controlled Trial of Self-Acupressure

Perineal self-acupressure has been used by pregnant women to prevent difficulties with labor and by people with constipation to aid in pain-free defecation. However, the technique has never been rigorously studied in clinical trials for constipation.

Eligible participants with symptoms of constipation will be able to receive fifty dollars in compensation as well as free education in perineal self-acupressure and standard treatment options.

Patients interested in participating should be directed to call: (323) 456-3383.
