By donating time, energy, and diverse skills to CEWM, our volunteers are among the Center’s most valuable assets. Our Center’s many multi-faceted projects also promise to keep you challenged and provide you with a memorable and rewarding experience. We welcome volunteers who have strong intellectual curiosity and a passion to learn about the field of integrative East-West medicine. We do our best to match your talents and creativity with the tasks at hand.
Due to the specialized content of the Center’s work, it is requested that applicants come prepared with a relevant background and/or knowledge about the subject matter. This requirement can be met here at UCLA by enrolling in introductory courses such as Integrative Medicine for Wellness and Health (Medicine 185) or Summer Travel Study - Medicine and Global Health in Shanghai (Medicine 180A&B/Global Health 118A&B).
Our volunteers assist us in a range of important tasks. These functions may include research or administrative support. Currently we are seeking volunteers for the following roles/positions:
- Conference Planning Team Member: Assist with brainstorming, logistics, flyer design and marketing for the Center's Summer 2020 conference.
- Wellness Education Team Member: Assist with creation of user-friendly wellness education materials (printed and web-based).
Highly motivated individuals with a background in integrative East-West medicine who can work independently as well as in a team setting by collaborating with Center faculty and staff in a professional and diplomatic manner.
Be committed for a minimum of 6 months (2 quarters) and at least 6-8 hours per week. Although you may complete most of the assignment at any location, you are required to attend project meetings and provide progress reports on a regular basis. Applicants are also to have a relevant background. Must be approved by the UCLA Volunteer Office and Campus Human Resources as an official pre-assigned volunteer prior to volunteering at CEWM.
How to Apply
Send your resume and a brief personal statement describing your background, skills, and interests by email to <firstname.lastname@example.org>. We will review your request upon receipt of both documents.
