"The Art and Science of Graceful Aging: Optimizing Wellness Throughout Your Lifespan With Integrative Medicine"

The 6th Annual Student Conference for Integrative Medicine (ASCIM 2018) is a collaboration between UCLA Center for East-West Medicine, UCLA undergraduates, and UCLA medical students. Following this year's theme of "The Art and Science of Graceful Aging: Optimizing Wellness Throughout Your Lifespan With Integrative Medicine," ASCIM 2018 will educate attendees on various topics in integrative medicine through interactive and didactic workshops and will focus on teaching participants how to integrate Eastern and Western perspectives on optimizing healthy aging, with special attention to nutrition, mental health, exercise, stress regulation, and other age-specific concerns. Our goal is to raise awareness of both integrative medicine and practical lifestyle changes that maintain quality-of-life through all of life's changes.

The conference is open to all students, health professionals and anyone interested in improving their own health or pursuing a health-related career. Attendees are encouraged to not only explore the integrative medicine field, but to also network and interact with the many healthcare professionals present throughout the event. We hope this event will help guide the development of integrative healthcare, and also provide attendees with the knowledge and tools to be better advocates of their own health.

Organizing this event is Students for Integrative Medicine (SIM), Integrative Medicine Student Interest Group (IMSIG) and UCLA Center for East-West Medicine, whose mission is to introduce undergraduate students, medical students, health professionals and anyone interested in well-being to an education and hands-on exploration of Integrative Medicine (IM) by demonstrating how Integrative Medicine has expanded to address health concerns throughout the world.
