While in Beijing, Dr. Hui also oversaw the very first Annual International Advanced Training Course in Traditional Chinese Medicine: Development of TCM in Clinical Practice and Research at the China Academy for Chinese Medical Sciences, a program co-organized by UCLA Center for East-West Medicine.
The first International Advanced Training Course (IATC) for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is an international training program sponsored by the Chinese government’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). 64 people from 14 countries across 4 continents applied for the course, with 23 being selected to participate. The TCM-IATC is organized by China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS), with assistance from Center for East-West Medicine (CEWM) of University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). CACMS is one of the most prominent TCM institutions in the world and UCLA CEWM is one of the first major world class health centers involved in the globalization of Chinese medicine outside of China. The aim of both institutions is to integrate the best of Chinese and western medicine to improve healthcare throughout the world.
