Andrew Shubov, M.D., is a subspecialty consultant at the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine and is an Assistant Clinical Professor within the UCLA Department of Medicine.  He grew up in San Francisco and came to Los Angeles for his medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and his residency in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.  He then completed an additional two year fellowship training in Integrative Medicine at the Center for East-West Medicine, during which he joined the UCLA hospitalist department as a way to connect his work to the hospitalized patient population.  He currently sees patients at the Santa Monica and Westlake Village clinic locations and is a hospitalist attending at UCLA Santa Monica Hospital.  He is working to bring East-West medicine to inpatient services at UCLA when clinical situations remain challenging despite the absolute best of modern medicine.  His research interests include transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation, acupuncture for advanced heart diseases, and the role of psychosocial stress in chronic pain syndromes.
