Dr. Maciasz studied cultural anthropology at the University of Michigan where she was introduced to cultural beliefs of health and medicine. After college, she taught healthy behavior, nutrition, and mental resiliency in New York City public high schools. She completed medical school at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. She was awarded the Doris Duke Research Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh and studied unmet needs of cancer patients and how language affects the perception of palliative care. She completed her pediatric internship at Brown University and her Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at Tulane University. She is honored to join UCLA Center for East West Medicine. She has an interest in integrative medicine and prevention of disease, integrative medicine and quality of life in patients living with chronic illness, and physician wellness.
